Traditionally  "Easter eggs" on Easter Sunday were: painted (boiled)  normal eggs,( as in Asturias).

People race eggs
down hills

At Easter
children are invited to the White house to roll eggs .




Today, Easter eggs are usually  chocolate !
Perhaps , with the economic crisis.........................




+++The word "Carnival"  is a "false friend"
 because
it describes: 

exuberant public  festivities at all dates

Notting Hill Carnival in London: In summer!


Statistics: Probably 95% of the British celebrate pancake day with pancakes.
70% SAY they are Christian
 about 30% (10% catholic, 20% protestant) observe ash Wednesday, and lent
